My family and I come to Bastrop from Nacogdoches in deep East Texas. I have a wonderful wife and a son.
I grew up on a farm outside of Lufkin along the Angelina River. In high school I competed in UIL academics and played football. I graduated High School to pursue Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M. Along the way I was able to play football at Tarleton State and Stephen F. Austin State University because of my engineering scholarship. I graduated with my Bachelors in Mathematics and Chemistry from SFA. I also have my Masters in Education from SFA.
CCMS is only the third school I have ever been a part of. I coached football and all other sports for 11 years at Diboll High School. While at Diboll, I began AP programs for both Calculus and Chemistry. After Diboll, I began a careeer as an administrator at Woden ISD in Nacogdoches County. I was the supervisor for math and science and was the Assistant Principal for all grades k-12. I served the families, students. and staff of Woden for 8 years.
Mrs. JoAnn Aguilar joins our team from Austin ISD, where she began her career in Education as a Bilingual Teacher in 1998 and as an Administrator in 2008. A graduate of Texas Tech University and Concordia University, she brings with her an extensive knowledge and experience in early literacy and elementary education. As a parent of 3 teenagers, Mrs. Aguilar has been able to make a smooth transition into middle school and our CCMS team!
